Christos Pechlivanis was born and raised in Athienou and started his music studies at an early age. He studied classical piano with Wanda Economou and harmony with Panayiotis Stylianou. He continued his studies in jazz harmony, improvisation and arranging with Yiannos Savvides and later with the Greek educator, musical author and researcher Dimitris Pyrgiotis, on advanced contemporary harmony.
In 1995, Christos started his performing activity, collaborating with musicians and singers from Cyprus and Greece. He created several pop/rock bands working as an arranger and keyboardist. In 2014 he organized the concert titled “When the bell rings”, in which he presented his own original songs, instrumental compositions and poetry. He continues composing and presenting new original works, with his duet “Piano & Percussion Project”. He has been the Musical Director and pianist of the hit musical “My Snowman”, (Silver Spotlight Production Ltd).
He organizes his own seminars, clinics and workshops, where he presents his unconventional approaches in musical learning. Also, he studies and researches the extensions of psychology and sociology in music education based on the principles of natural learning (Self-Directed Musical Learning Concept©). Also he is the creator of the learning tool “CHORDS & BEYOND MATRIX” ©. He publishes articles about music and life at his personal blog, www.christospechlivanis.com
In the field of education, he teaches piano (contemporary and classical), theory and harmony for the last 20 years. He is a member of the Potenzia Del’Arte faculty from 2017, teaching Piano (classical, jazz and contemporary) as well as Jazz Harmony
