Rafaella Demetriadou

Rafaella Demetriadou is a Cypriot artist, vocalist and songwriter based between Cyprus and the UK. Born and raised in Nicosia, she began performing from a young age alongside her father in live musical settings – a formative experience that sparked her lifelong passion for music and performance. She received her early musical training at Potenzia Del’Arte, where she nurtured her voice, stage presence, and love for musical theatre.

She later relocated to London, where she lived for eight years and earned a Bachelor of Music with Honours in Vocal Performance from the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP). During her studies, Rafaella was mentored by renowned professionals including Izzy Chase (Dua Lipa’s backing vocalist) and Graham Dee (X Factor UK Vocal Coach), and participated in many masterclasses including Gerry Brown (drummer for Stevie Wonder), Oli Rockberger (songwriter and performer), and LaSharVu (backing vocalists for Sam Smith, Basement Jaxx, and Mark Ronson).

While in the UK, she became an active presence in London’s live music circuit, performing at respected venues including Nambucca, North London Tavern, Under the Bridge, and the legendary Hard Rock Cafe.

In 2021, Rafaella released her debut album ‘sincerely, me.’, a deeply personal project that received international recognition. The album was featured on television, radio, and global music blogs, and has since surpassed 150,000 streams across platforms. Her more recent singles “WOMAN” and “Renaissance” continue her exploration of identity and culture, blending English and Greek lyrics with modern pop production and Mediterranean nuance.

She has been nominated for Best Female Vocalist and Best Lyrics at the Cyprus Music Video Festival Awards in both 2023 and 2024 – celebrating her artistic identity, vocal ability, and lyrical creativity.

In addition to her solo work, Rafaella is actively involved in co-writing and maintains ongoing creative collaborations with multiple producers and artists. She has recorded in studios around the world, including Zonkey Studios in Vienna, Austria and Queen’s Park Studio in London, constantly refining her sound and expanding her artistic reach.

Her passion for musical theatre remains a vital part of her creative identity. She has performed in productions such as A Christmas Miracle, Musical Favorites 2, Μια φορά και ένα ταξίδι, and Ήταν ένα μεγάλο…καράβι with Potenzia Del’Arte, as well as My Snowman with Silver Spotlight Productions.

Rafaella is now excited to come back to where it all began, this time as a teacher, ready to share her experience and passion with the next generation of musicians.
